I'm glad that I have such opportunity to work with Luscious (very talented local female vocal group formed by Nadia Aqilah, Ruzanna & Inas) in their song "Khabarkan" (composed by Andy Ariffin) which has been choosen as one of the soundtrack for TV3 series "Sindarela" (a very popular TV series in Malaysia)

You might know this famous composer Jovi Theng (汤小康老师) who wrote a lot of beautiful songs such as 情非得以 "qing fei de yi" (偶像剧 "流行花园" 主题曲 Taiwan TV series "Meteor Garden" theme song) or in Malay "Ku Juga Mencintaimu" sang by Saiful, 海啸 "hai xiao" (sang by 庾澄庆 Harlem Yu), 他在那里 "ta zai na li" (sang by 张学友 Jacky Cheung) and many more... (if you still have no idea who this guy is, just google it!) 

I've work with him for more than 2 years. I've did most of his company demo songs including his own compositions and his desciples songs. You might ask what is a demo? Demo songs can be simplified as sample songs, mean before they sell their songs to recording companies such as Warner Music, BMG, Universal Music and so on... the songs need to be arrange into a "ready" songs so that the recording companies will know how the song is going to be like. (They won't listen to demo that are recorded in the bathroom, lol... ya, they don't have time for that...) So, my job is to arrange the music with all kinds of instruments to make it sound nice, so the songs will be easily sold out to recording companies.

There are many people composed nice songs but just don't know why those songs are going nowhere... here is the secret, make your songs complete with good arrangement, so that others may know how wonderful is your songs...

I never like to join any competition either for singing or composing, but some friends just told me, why don't you just give it a try... They passed me a website for an International Chinese Christian Song Writing Competition held by Agape Renewal Center. When I log in to their website, I'm really attracted by the prize... (that happens all the time) So I decided to give it a try!

So I simply choose 1 of the song that I composed, recorded into a CD as demo and sent it with the entry form...

At that time I don't really know what the competition is going to be like, so I didn't really felt pressured. After they announced the results only I know, there are so many people from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, USA and many more joining the competition. But thank God, I got a 3rd place!

The song was originally titled as The Sky Is Dark (天黑了), but the host call me and asked me to change the title to Light Of The World (世界的光). But think I like the original title more... hahaha...

In year 2006, I've join Gecko Music Sdn. Bhd. as an Assistant Producer, Sound Engineer and also a Sessionist for acoustic guitars, electric guitars, keyboard, bass and drums. Gecko Music Sdn. Bhd. is the head office of Gecko Music Group of Companies founded by Mr. Daniel Foo. It is a fast growing recording studio base in Melaka, producing artist nationwide. They are 3 other subsidiary company such as Gecko Music Distributions (Marketing and Distribute Audio and Video CD throughout Malaysia and Singapore), Gecko Instruments Pte. Ltd. (Produce professional studio grade audio equipments) and Gecko Productions Pte. Ltd (Producing Movies and Drama).

Although I've only work with Gecko Music for 1 year plus, I get to co-produced few albums projects. From sessioning to mixing and mastering process.

The first album project I get to involved was a portuguese album, Festa De San Pedru, produced by D' Malaqueiros, a group form by Mr. Don Beins and Mr. Martin Thessera. I've did most of the studio recording sessions for them.

The 2nd album project I get to involved was an english album, Until We Meet Again, produced by Mr. Dennis Goonting from Indonesia. This is a Memorial Album for his own parents. I've did half of the studio recording sessions and also some acoustic guitar sessioning in this album.

The 3rd album that I've get involved to was another english album, As An Incense, produced by Dr. Sean Thomas George. I've did almost all the studio recording sessions and also some acoustic guitar sessioning in this album. I also have chances to record drumming sessions for Mr. Gary Gideon (famous session drummer for concerts and album productions) and saxophone sessions for Mr. Thomas Theseira (famous session saxaphonist for concerts and album productions) who played in this album.

While producing this album, people are touch by these songs written by Dr. Sean and we felt that it should be share to not only english educated people but also chinese educated people, so with the grace of God I managed to translate all the songs according to the original meaning into chinese and title it as 犹如献祭. I'm also invited by Dr. Sean as the male vocal in this chinese album.

There are some other album that I've involved in like Miss Helene Nguyen's album (USA) and some local self produced album which I didn't get to collect the printed cover of their CD's.

My another composition that been recorded in few albums... This song was started singing in a small group of young people in church and later on was being sang in many different church services, conferences and seminars.

this song was first recorded in year 2001, in a self-produced album named after the song in 500 copies (actually songs in this album 90% are my compositions) and was sold off in few weeks time. (Sorry, I didn't have the cover photo) Base on demand, a Sabah church reproduced another 200 copies for their church internal circulation only.

This song become popular in Christian world, not only local but also other country like taiwan, korea, singapore and many more, especially chinese churches. this song was sang in many different services, conferences, church camp and seminars for Christian churches and Catholic churches as well.

Few years later, a local christian artist 卓慧芳 has request to record this song in her worship album 重燃的火 (Rekindle The Fire) produced by James Yee at Chenaniah Sdn. Bhd.

Later in year 2007, another pastor, 祝瑞莲牧师 Pastor Josie Chu from Taiwan recorded this song in her live praise and worship album which also named after the song. The album was produced by Agape Renewal Center. (www.agapecenter.net)
